Penn Soil Resource Conservation and Development (RC&D) Council announced today that it will co-sponsor a Grazing Workshop on October 18, 2019 at the Eric Hamilton Farm near North Bingham, PA from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM to benefit grazing producers. He will explain some of the advantages of high stock density grazing, time and money saving tips he’s learned and stockpiling basics.
A tour of the farm will be included to review details of the watering system, fencing and prescribed grazing practices. Fay Benson of Cornell Cooperative Extension will be on hand to demonstrate soil health principles. Matt Havens of the Natural Resources Conservation Service will be on hand to discuss soil maps, and indicators of soil health. Pasture condition, forage Identification, and grazing management will also be discussed.
